Vanderbilt University's acceptance rate is even more competitive this year, with an acceptance rate of only 5.6% for the incoming class of 2028.

The university received a total of 47,171 applications, and only 2,401 students were admitted.

Vanderbilt University announced both their regular decision and early decision statistics.

The unviersity's overall acceptance rate dipped slightly from 5.6% last year to 5.08% this year. This in line with a consistent trend in Vanderbilt's acceptance rates - it's been declining over the past few years now, from 7.8% for class of 2025 to 5.08% for class of 2028.

This year, Vanderbilt received 47,171 applicants in total, almost the same number as last year's 47,120. Despite the applicant number remaining the same, the number of admitted students decreased from 2,645 last year to 2,401 students this year.

This decrease in acceptance shows Vanderbilt's increasing selectiveness - the university is well regarded and sought after by many prospective students, even being considered among the New Ivies.
