Brown announced the early decision acceptance rate for class of 2025, with the overall acceptance results to follow on Ivy Day in March 2029. Below is an overview of this year's acceptance statistics and key trends.

While Brown continues to be one of the most competitive schools in the country, this year's early acceptance rate of 17.9% is the highest early acceptance rate in over half a decade.

Similar to some of the other Ivy League's, brown offers Early Decision with a November 1st deadline. If students are accepted, they'd have to withdraw all other applications to other universities.

Brown's Early Decision Acceptance Results

  • Total Applications: 5,048
  • Accepted Students: 906
  • Acceptance Rate: 17.9%

The number of ED applicants to Brown decreased by 19.2%, making it the second year in a row where the total number has gone down, and the lowest total number of ED applicants since class of 2024.

The early acceptance rate has increased noticeably from last year's 14.4% to this year's 17.9%.

Early Decision Acceptance Rate Trends

After continuously decreasing for 5 years between class of 2023 and class of 2027, Brown's early acceptance rate increased slightly last year, to 14.4%.

However, this year's dramatic increase is much higher, and puts Brown's early acceptance rate close to its class of 2023 acceptance rate of 18.2% six years ago. This increase is likely due to the noticeable decrease in early applicants, combined with an increase in the admitted cohort's size.
