Why do some many NZ ivy graduates work in the finance sector in the US? Is it partially for green card sponsorship?

Many Ivy students work in the finance sector in general. I would say it’s mostly for the prestige and money.
It’s easier to obtain a work visa and then a green card if you work in the nonprofit sector as some jobs there are H1B exempt. But of course, those jobs do not pay as well as finance jobs.
