I hear Princeton used to do grade deflation? Is that still a thing? How do most professors assign grades?
Princeton has officially done away with grade deflation. As for grading, it really depends on the class. Some will decide grade cutoffs at the beginning of the term, with cutoffs that stay constant throughout the course. Many others instead opt to grade the course normally, then at the end of the term, look at the distribution of final grades and decide grades from there. Live by the curve, die by the curve.
