How would I put myself in a good position to be considered for these awards? And would taking only 5 subjects vs 6 subjects affect my chances?
Thanks!
I cannot speak specifically to Burnside, but typically for these the way that you have to get Dux is by taking the most advanced classes and then scoring as highly as possible. I would lean towards taking at least 6 - if not 7 - subjects and trying to optimize for the most challenging coursework. Teachers and administrators really value students that have pushed themselves to a very high level, even moreso than students who have just gotten a lot of good grades
